News: Woman in her 60s killed in multi-vehicle crash in North York

NORTH YORK, ON – A woman in her 60s was killed in a multi-vehicle crash in North York on Sunday, CP24 reports.

The collision happened after 4 p.m. on the northbound lanes of Don Valley Parkway connecting to Eglinton Avenue East. Preliminary details show that the woman in her 60s was driving a Honda Civic on the Don Valley Parkway off-ramp. For reasons unclear, she failed to negotiate a curve, went over the tracks, and was hit by another vehicle going west on Eglinton Avenue East. The woman’s Honda Civic eventually came to rest.

A short time later, the woman’s Honda Civic collided with two other vehicles, a Ford Bronco and a Kia Soul.

EMS crews were called to the scene and transported the female driver to a nearby trauma centre, where she later died.

Three other occupants involved in the crash sustained minor injuries.

Transportation crews closed the eastbound lanes on Eglinton, westbound Eglinton, and the northbound DVP off-ramp connecting to eastbound Eglinton.
