News: Woman seriously injured in crash with Toronto police cruiser in Scarborough

TORONTO, ON – A multi-vehicle crash involving a Toronto police cruiser left a woman seriously injured on Saturday morning.

According to a report by CTV, the crash occurred at about 10:30 a.m. on Markham Road near the intersection with Eglinton Avenue East.

Sources say the police cruiser was heading south with its lights and sirens on when it collided with a vehicle heading east on Eglinton Ave.

The driver of the passenger vehicle, an unidentified woman, was taken to an area hospital in serious condition, but is expected to be OK. The officer sustained minor injuries in the crash.
