News: Motorcyclist’s life claimed in crash with vehicle in Scarborough

SCARBOROUGH, ON – A motorcyclist’s life was claimed in a crash with a vehicle outside Morningside Park on Sunday, Toronto City News reports.

Local police said the motorcyclist and another vehicle were traveling north on Orton Park Road when they collided. The motorcyclist then lost control of his bike and crashed into a tree. This happened south of Ellesmere Road and warranted a response from emergency crews, who pulled up to the scene after 6 p.m.

Police found the motorcyclist in serious, life-threatening condition and conducted life-saving measures before EMS crews arrived. Despite the medical personnel’s best efforts, the motorcyclist succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

Officials did not release the motorcyclist’s name, only saying he was a man in his 40s.

The driver of the other vehicle, who stayed at the scene, was not injured. As of this writing, police did not say whether they cited the motorist or whether they would face charges.

A full investigation is underway.
