News: Cyclist hospitalized after getting hit by Toronto PD car 

DOWNTOWN TORONTO, ON – A cyclist was sent to the hospital after getting hit by a Toronto Police Department car on Wednesday, CTV News said.

The bicycle-car collision happened before 5 p.m. near King Street East and Parliament Street.

The cyclist, a man in his 20s, sustained minor injuries as a result and was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment, Toronto paramedics confirmed.

Police closed Parliament Street between Front Street East and Adelaide Street East and King Street, starting at Trinity Street and ending at Berkeley Street for the on-scene clean-up process and investigation.

Police are actively working to pinpoint the factors behind the bicycle-car collision and have not shared other details about the crash, including whether the police officer who struck the cyclist was cited or would face charges.
