News: 1 killed, 1 critically hurt in Mississauga semi, trash truck crash 

MISSISSAUGA, ON – One person was left in critical condition, and another died after a crash involving a semi-truck and a trash truck crash reported before 3 p.m. Thursday.

This collision happened at westbound Goreway Drive and Derry Road, according to Peel Regional Police.

TRAFFIC ALERT:

– Goreway Drive/Derry Road W #Mississauga
– All E/B and W/B lanes on Derry Road closed from Goreway Dr to west of Hwy 427
– A tractor trailer and a garbage truck involved
– U/K extent of injuries

Officers shut down all of the east and westbound lanes on Derry, beginning at Goreway Drive and ending at Highway 427. Officials have asked drivers in the area to use alternative routes.
