News: 1 killed, 3 injured in head-on crash in Scarborough 

SCARBOROUGH, ON – One person died, and three others were injured after a head-on crash that happened on Thursday, CTV News reports.

The crash occurred in the area of Sheppard Avenue and Vandorf Street. Preliminary details reveal that a driver of a Nissan Altima was going north when they crossed the centre line and crashed into a southbound Volkswagen Jetta.

The Nissan passenger, a 42-year-old adult, died from their injuries. The Nissan driver, a 38-year-old adult, the Volkswagen driver, a 32-year-old adult, and their passenger, a 49-year-old adult, survived.

The Volkswagen occupants suffered serious injuries, and the Nissan driver sustained injuries deemed life-threatening.

EMS crews took the Nissan driver to a hospital, but made no mention of taking the Volkswagen occupants to a hospital. The surviving individual’s current physical conditions were not disclosed.

Police said they arrested one person on suspicion of impaired driving, but confirmed it was not the Nissan or Volkswagen driver.
