News: 2 killed, 3 hospitalized following Hwy. 401 collision in Mississauga 

MISSISSAUGA, ON – Two people died, and three people were hospitalized after a collision that happened on Highway 401 East on Wednesday.

The crash occurred around 9 a.m. near Dixie Road, CTV News reports. The impact of the crash claimed the lives of an 80-year-old man and a 53-year-old woman from Cambridge.

Three others survived and were rushed to a hospital by EMS for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Police shut down a portion of Highway 401 for several hours and have reopened all lanes since.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
