MARKHAM, ON – Two people were hospitalized with major injuries early New Year’s Day following a two-vehicle crash on Kennedy Road in Markham, reports CTV News Toronto.
The accident took place at the intersection with Denison Street, in an area north of Steeles Avenue. Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene just after 2:00 a.m.
Investigators are working to determine what led up to the wreck, but two people had to be rushed to a local trauma centre for injuries described as serious but non-life-threatening.
Photos taken at the crash site indicate heavy damage to the front-end of both vehicles.
York Regional Police officials urge anyone with information or dash-cam footage to come forward.
