News: 4 hospitalized after Scarborough gunshot injury pursuit-crash

SCARBOROUGH, ON – A police pursuit ended in a crash near McNicoll and Midland Avenues, which left one person with a gunshot wound and sent four to hospitals Friday.

Local police tried to pull over the driver of a vehicle at Bellamy Road and Lawrence Avenue. However, the person did not stop promoting a chase, Global News reports.

Officers did not comment on the contributing factors that led to this wreck but said when the incident was over, they found four people inside the fleeing vehicle, one of whom had a gunshot wound.

First responders sent all of the occupants to a separate medical facility, three to a hospital, and one to a trauma centre.

Police said the gunshot wound victim is not considered a suspect, although they did book the three other individuals into custody. Authorities have not yet specified their charges.
