News: Accident blocks part of eastbound QEW in Mississauga

MISSISSAUGA, ON – Part of eastbound Queen Elizabeth Way was closed Tuesday afternoon in southeast Mississauga following a crash, according to Trafficnet.ca.

The accident happened at Mississauga Road (Exit 130), near the city’s Lorne Park area, prompting a response from emergency responders some time before 3:11 p.m.

Authorities have not released a statement indicating the cause of the wreck, but the two right eastbound lanes of QEW were shut down as crews worked to process the scene.

Traffic footage in the area showed multiple vehicles stopped on the far right lane, but it was unclear whether or how they were all involved.

While at least one fire engine was called to the area, no major injuries have been confirmed at this time.
