MISSISSAUGA, ON – A cyclist suffered critical, life-threatening injuries Friday morning due to a crash with a vehicle Friday morning in southeast Mississauga, according to Global News.
The accident unfolded near Mississauga Road and Indian Road, just northwest of Port Credit, prompting a response from emergency crews at about 8:26 a.m.
Preliminary details from Peel Regional Police indicates the victim was transported to a local trauma center for life-threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle while riding a bicycle in the area.
Officials said the driver remained at the crash site following the incident. It’s unclear whether charges are expected to be filed.
The public was asked to avoid the area, as Mississauga Road between Indian Road and Kane Road were shut down in both directions.
