News: Delivery truck fatally strikes pedestrian on Highway 404 in North York

NORTH YORK, ON – A delivery truck fatally struck a pedestrian who was walking along Highway 404 in North York on Saturday morning.

CTV News reports that Ontario Provincial Police received notice that a man was walking in the highway near Finch Avenue at about 6 a.m. that morning. Soon afterwards, that person was hit by a delivery truck while in the southbound lanes. Initial reports suggest the man may have subsequently been hit by other vehicles that did not stay at the scene.

The victim’s identity has not been made public at this time.

Police are continuing to investigate the crash. We will provide additional information as it becomes available.
