News: Garbage struck fatally strikes woman in NE Toronto

TORONTO, ON – A woman was killed Thursday afternoon when she was hit by a garbage truck while crossing at a northeast Toronto intersection.

According to a report by Global News, the woman was crossing Wionna Drive westbound at St Clair Avenue at about 12:46 p.m. when she was hit by the garbage truck as it proceeded through the intersection.

The victim, an unidentified woman in her 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The truck’s driver cooperated with officers at the scene. It is unclear at this time whether any charges will be filed in connection to the incident.
