BARRIE, ON – Police say a drunk driver who was four times over the legal limit caused a five-car, chain reaction crash at an intersection in Barrie last Thursday.
CTV reports that the crash happened around 8:30 p.m. on the evening of September 21. A 31-year-old woman heading south drove her vehicle into the intersection of Bayfield and Grove Streets, setting off a crash that ultimately involved five vehicles.
Emergency responders transported the driver of one of those vehicles to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. We do not know their current condition at this time.
Police arrested the woman who caused the crash . She faces a charge of operation while impaired and operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) and has a court date scheduled for October 11.
