News: Man, 19, hospitalized after car vs. truck crash in Whitby 

WHITBY, ON – A 19-year-old man driving a car had to go to a trauma centre after crashing head-on into a semi-truck on Lakeridge Road Friday.

Authorities told The Toronto Sun that the events unfolded around 8 a.m., when the car driver lost control of his vehicle while going south, went into the northbound lanes, and then collided with the truck. Both vehicles were significantly damaged as a result.

EMS crews said the 19-year-old man is currently recovering from serious injuries, while the male truck driver, 45, was unharmed.

Officials are working to determine why the young man lost control of his car. No criminal charges or citations were formally announced.
