News: OPP responds to accident on Hwy 401 WB in North York

TORONTO, ON — A vehicle crash early Friday left part of westbound Highway 401 blocked in the North York district of Toronto, according to OPP GTA Traffic.

The collision was first reported before 4:05 a.m. and forced a closure of all westbound lanes from Avenue Road to the Don Valley Parkway.

At this time, Ontario Provincial Police has not released a statement about the events leading up to the accident or the involved parties, but the lanes remained blocked until some time before 9:33 a.m., more than four hours later.

It was not immediately apparent whether anyone was seriously injured and/or had to be transported to a hospital.
