NORTH YORK, ON — One person was rushed to a hospital Tuesday evening following a pedestrian crash in the Avondale area of North York, reports Global News.
Toronto Police said the incident unfolded near Yonge Street and Avondale Avenue, some time after 9:00 p.m.
While authorities have not indicated what led up to the event, paramedics had one person transported to an area trauma centre. Officials said the victim suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver stayed at the crash site and cooperated with responding officers.
Drivers were warned to potential delays during the emergency response and investigation, which remains underway. Alternate routes were recommended.
