News: Rollover crash on Hwy 401 in Etobicoke area sends 1 to hospital

TORONTO, ON — One person was injured in a rollover collision Tuesday evening on Highway 401 near Toronto’s Etobicoke area, according to OPP Highway Safety Division.

First responders arrived on the westbound highway approaching Dixon Road (Exit 354) some time before 3:10 p.m.

Authorities have not indicated what led up to the accident, but preliminary details show an Audi and a BMW were impacted. One of the vehicles was said to have rolled onto its side or onto its roof, but other motorists were able to help get the car back onto its wheels.

One of the involved drivers was taken to a local hospital where their condition remains undisclosed.

Three left lanes were shut down to accommodate an investigation, causing significant delays in the area.

At 6:18 p.m., the Ontario Provincial Police Highway Division reported that all travel lanes were being reopened to traffic.
