News: Woman seriously hurt in hit-and-run in Markham

MARKHAM, ON – A 19-year-old woman was left in serious condition after a hit-and-run crash that happened on Thursday, according to CTV News.

Preliminary details show that a 19-year-old woman was leaving the bus and crossing the intersection of Dension Street and Featherstone Avenue when she was struck by a blue car that ran a red light.

The pedestrian came onto the hood of the car and lay there for 50 metres before falling down. The driver did not render aid to the victim and kept driving.

EMS crews transported the female pedestrian to a trauma centre for treatment of critical, life-threatening injuries.

The suspect was said to have driven an electric blue, four-door 2016-2020 Honda Civic with winter tires, which has since sustained windshield and front-end damage.
