TORONTO, ON – Police in Toronto are investigating a fatal pedestrian accident that occurred on Wednesday night, reports Global News.
The crash took place in the area of Wynford Drive and Wynford Heights Crescent. Police and emergency crews responded to the scene at about 7:45 p.m. and learned that a man had been struck there by a vehicle.
The victim was taken to an area hospital in critical condition and later died of his injuries. His name was not released.
The driver involved was reported to have stayed at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. So far there have been no charges in the case.
Police are looking into the possibility that weather may have been a contributing factor. The intersection was shut down for the investigation and drivers were advised to avoid the area.
